Our Mission Statement

We, St. Mary's Parish, are a people responding to Christ's call to conversion, new life and discipleship with a nurturing Community.

We celebrate this new life in Scripture and the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic tradition.

Our Celebration impels and transforms us to be Spirit filled individuals who can reach out and minister to all people challenging and enabling them to build God's Kingdom of justice and holiness.

Our parish library is open on Sunday mornings in between the two Masses. It is on the 2nd floor of the church building. Use the stairway near the playground / parking lot or take the elevator. We have a wonderful selection of books for both children and adults.

Men of St. mary’s

Would you like a better prayer life?

Would you like to grow even closer to God?

Please consider coming to the Tuesday night “Circle of Prayer” group which will meet at 7 PM in the chapel. It is for one hour – for only four weeks – beginning Nov. 28. All men are welcome. You can sign up in the Gathering Space, on the flier in today’s bulletin or by calling the office. Thank you!

Dead  Sea  Scrolls

Now through January 7, 2007 at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. Exhibit opens at 10am daily. It
is suggested that you allow an hour and a half to explore the 12,000 square foot exhibit. Admission is
$19.75 ($17.75 senior). For information call 206-443-2844.

Deacon Giovanni Gamas

Is serving as our Deacon this year. Deacon Giovanni is studying at Mt. Angel Seminary. He will be ordained for the Diocese of Sacramento in 2007. We appreciate Deacon Giovanni’s time and giftedness to our parish!

Newspapers!!

Have you got newspapers stacking up in your garage? Are your closets overflowing with them? Call the Knights of Columbus. They’ll clean up your problem. The Knights are still collecting newspapers. Drop them off at the back of the old apartment building or contact either Jack Gall @ 926-4699 or Bernie Covino @ 926-9614 for assistance in getting rid of all that old news.

Are You a Frequent Flier?

Occasionally our parish staff go to conferences or in-services out of state. If you have a free ticket that you might be willing to donate to the parish, please give us a call. It would help our parish to save money and be greatly appreciated by the staff. Thank you!

Advent  Banner

Our parish has commissioned two new hangings for the wall behind the altar that we will use during the Advent season. This is an excellent memorial opportunity. One of the banners has already been donated in memory of Tony Moreira. The cost of the remaining banner is $500.00. If you are interested in donating all or part of the cost, please contact the parish office. Thank you!

Parish  Stewardship

Thanks to all who turned in their parish stewardship commitment form today. If you weren’t able to do so, please put it in next weekend’s collection or return to the parish office. Our parish needs the support of all our parishioners. Thank you and God Bless!

Whole  Community  Catechesis  (WCC)

Our next session will be Sunday, Dec. 3 following the 11 AM Mass. We will begin with lunch (turkey & gravy) suggested donation $1.50. Following lunch we will regroup in the church at 12:35 to begin learning more about the season of Advent. There will be break-out sessions for pre K/kindergarten; families with children in elementary school; middle school; high school; adults. Deacon Giovanni will lead the adult group. There will also be a special break-out session for families with children preparing for First Eucharist. If you can’t come on Sunday, there will be a repeat session the following Weds. beginning at 5:30 PM with dinner.

Advent Festival

This year our wreath making will happen during WCC (see other bulletin announcement). Please come to our Advent WCC, even if you have never joined us for that before. Also, the Catholic Daughters gift store will be selling candles and wreath bases for Advent wreaths. They will be open Thanksgiving weekend and the first weekend of Dec. Thank you.

Greens Are Needed

For our wreath making for the season of Advent. Please call the parish office if you can bring greens (926-1449). Greens should be brought the to the parking lot behind the church either Sat. Dec 2 or Sun Dec 3. You can put them on the wood deck.
