Our Mission Statement

We, St. Mary's Parish, are a people responding to Christ's call to conversion, new life and discipleship with a nurturing Community.

We celebrate this new life in Scripture and the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic tradition.

Our Celebration impels and transforms us to be Spirit filled individuals who can reach out and minister to all people challenging and enabling them to build God's Kingdom of justice and holiness.

St. Mary’s School Highlights

Language Arts

Kindergartens learned about letter sound relationships with alphabets Al Alligator, Bobby Bear and Clyde Camel. Reading groups have begun in First grade. First graders started their first reading text of the year while Third grade students had a writer’s workshop and established reading groups. A literary circle was formed by Fourth graders to study "Sarah Plain and Tall" and they wrote descriptive essays about their favorite places. The Fifth grade class wrote poems entitled "Summer Was.” Second graders focused on sentences and story parts ..." Sixth grade focused on  autobiography poems, summer narratives, spelling, sentence types, and the  novels "Sounder" and " Chasing Vermeer".

St. Mary's School promotes each child's spiritual, academic, and character development as a Catholic Christian in the image of Jesus Christ

Retrouvaille –  A  Lifeline  for Hurting  Marriages

Is your marriage or that of a relative or friend heading for divorce? Do you know how to save that marriage? Or do you feel helpless? Retrouvaille is a Catholic program designed to help troubled marriages regain their health. It helps spouses uncover or re-awaken the love, trust and commitment that originally brought them together, and gives them new communication tools to break patterns of angry behavior. The program is highly successful in saving hurting marriages, even bringing reconciliation to couples who have already separated or divorced. Retrouvaille is similar to Marriage Encounter, but with one important difference. The leaders are couples whose own marriages once nearly failed. They inspire couples in hurting marriages to try new ways to love each other. For information, call 503-285-2342 or visit www.helpourmarriage.org. Couples of all faiths are welcome and no one is turned away due to financial difficulties.

Eucharistic Adoration, "Come Pray with Me".Our Lord asked His apostles and now He is asking us, can't you pray with me an hour? At St Mary's we have the privilege of being able to sit with the Lord.  This is a great blessing to those who come to adoration, to their families and friends, to our community and our church. The First Friday of each month we have Eucharistic adoration from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the chapel. Contact Caroline Trujillo 924-9952 or Dorothy Gall for more information.
