Equip the refrigerator and freezer with thermometers. The refrigerator should be 36 to 40 degrees and the freezer 0 to 5 degrees. Any colder and you are using more energy than necessary. Reminder The first Sunday of each month is “FISH” Sunday. Please bring non-perishable food items, toilet paper, soap, paper towels or diapers. These will be given to FISH, an emergency help organization in Albany and distributed in food boxes for the needy. Eucharistic Adoration St. Anthony Mary Claret's feast day is October 24th. He was a missionary priest from Spain. "Humility, obedience, meekness, and love are the virtues that shine through the Cross and the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. O my Jesus, help me to imitate you." Eucharistic Adoration is scheduled each Friday from noon to 8 PM. A sign-up sheet is at the chapel door for your convenience. Upcoming St. Mary’s Arts and Craft Bazaar November 9th and 10th Do you like to make crafts or artwork? Do you quilt or sew? We are accepting donations for our Arts and Craft Bazaar for the raffle or to sell in the bazaar. The proceeds will benefit the Church’s Gathering Space for projects needed for funeral receptions and other functions. Or……. If you are a vendor and are interested in selling your arts and craft items in this year’s bazaar and would like a registration form? Please contact: Sharon Konopa, 926-6812 or email:StMarysBazaar@comcast.net St. Mary's Bereavement Ministry provides the food for the funeral receptions. Volunteers make salads, desserts and serve at the reception. We have experienced a higher than average number of funerals this year. We understand everyone's busy schedules, so we would like to add more names to our list so volunteers are not called as often. The grieving families are very appreciative of this service our church provides and volunteers spend many hours supporting this ministry. October Service Project October is Respect Life month. Each October for the past several years, our parish has had a “Baby Shower” for the FISH Guesthouse. The young women there are pregnant or parenting teens with their babies. Please bring something for a baby or a new mom this month. You can drop it off in the vestibule of the church. Mini Halloween Carnival Sunday Oct. 28 from noon – 1 PM. Costumes are welcome, you can change after mass. There are a variety of free activities for children – most geared toward pre school or younger elementary age children, though all are welcome. Please join us. Prayer Shawl Ministry The next meeting will be on Monday, October 22 at 9:00am in the basement of the parish house. A no-host lunch outing will follow the meeting. Anyone wanting to learn more about this ministry is welcome. We have a large resource for anyone wanting to learn the basic skills of knitting or crocheting along with supplies for beginners. Our yarn closet it beginning to take on a new look. We have been blessed with donations to help us along the path as we continue the works of the Holy Spirit through our hands and prayers. Your continued prayers and support secures the prosperity of this ministry.
