Something New for WCC This year our catechetical (teaching) focus will be on The Creed. Each of our WCC sessions will spotlight one of the sections of the Creed. WCC will be the first Sunday of each month (Oct. – March). It will be in between the 8:30 & 11:00 Masses. There will be a repeat session on Sunday night at 6:30 PM. There will also be a bi-lingual sessions on the Monday following the first Sunday at 5:30 PM. We hope that you will attend as many WCC (Whole Community Catechesis) sessions as you can.

August 16 from 9 - 4 First Evangelical Church Parking Lot (1332 First Ave. SE) Please drop off your donations (no junk, please) on Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14 from 9 - noon, and Friday, August 15 from 9 - 4, at the back of the church corner of 1st & Pine. Bilingual Office Help Wanted Our parish office is seeking a part-time person(8 – 12 hours/ week) who can speak, read and write both English and Spanish. The position includes phone, reception, word processing, copying, mailings and other office related topics. Please see Shirley in the office for an application.
Pastoral Council Our thanks to Bob Pace for his service on the Pastoral Council. Bob has resigned from the Council and one year remains of his term. The Pastoral council assists Father with the Pastoral planning for the parish. If you would be interested in serving the remaining year of Bob’s term, please contact anyone of the Council members or Kathy Reilly for more information. A replacement will be selected during August.
Eucharistic Adoration Jesus stays with us day and night in the blessed sacrament, calling out to each one of us: "Come to me all of you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will refresh you". Jesus stays with us in the blessed sacrament to refresh us in mind, heart and spirit by lavishing on us those graces that encourage us, console us, strengthen us, guide us and inspire us to place all of our trust in HIS SACRED HEART, so that the power of HIS love may cast out every fear, doubt, worry and anxiety. "THE EUCHARIST is a point where God and the soul meet-God will all HIS graces, the soul with all its wants" Join us each Friday for Eucharistic Adoration from noon to 8p.m. in the chapel. Thank you To the many members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for your help at the Albany Area Right to Life booth at the Linn County Fair July 17 through 20, 2008. It is gratifying to see the many people of St. Mary’s dedicated to the cause for life. Thanks, also to the Knights of Columbus for loaning us the tables needed for out booth. Your Help Needed! We are looking for someone who owns a sewing machine capable of stitching through heavy fabric and can volunteer their time to make a cover for our new wooden podium in the gathering space. Fabric would be provided. Do you know how to sell items on Ebay and already have an Ebay account? This would include listing the collectibles on E-bay, packing and shipping any items that sell. Our Thanks to Bill Whitley Bill has served our parish as Liturgical Music Director. His last day will be Sept. 15. Bill will be teaching full time at Western Oregon University. We will miss his leadership and wish him well!
Liturgical Music Director Position opening at St. Mary’s Parish , Albany, OR. Recruit, train, support musicians for three weekend liturgies, funerals, weddings and other parish and liturgical celebrations. Should have sound understanding of Vatican II liturgical principles; be proficient in voice, organ and piano; experienced in directing and training cantors; adult and children’s choirs. Should have excellent communication skills and able to work collaboratively. MA in music preferred.
