Our Mission Statement

We, St. Mary's Parish, are a people responding to Christ's call to conversion, new life and discipleship with a nurturing Community.

We celebrate this new life in Scripture and the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic tradition.

Our Celebration impels and transforms us to be Spirit filled individuals who can reach out and minister to all people challenging and enabling them to build God's Kingdom of justice and holiness.

Thoughts  On  Prayer

He who truly desires Love, seeks it truly. And he who truly seeks it, surely finds it. And he who finds it has found the Fountain of Life. -- St. Francis de Sales.

Parents

Our parish nursery is available during the 11 AM Mass for your children who are in kindergarten or younger. Several of you have mentioned that you would like to see something more happening than simply “babysitting”. We are trying some Bible stories and other activities this summer with the children in the nursery. Also, we will soon begin Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the 11 AM Mass each week. This is for children who are pre-K through 2nd grade. We definitely will need some help with this – please call Kathy at 926-1449 ext 303 to volunteer.

Father  Ken  Olsen

Will be giving a talk this week:

Tues. June 26–Prayer from the Heart at 6:30 PM.

Please plan to join us and bring your neighbors. Father Ken is an excellent speaker (many of you will remember that he is one of the priests who took Father Betts’s place in the fall).

Pray One!  Knit One!

THANK YOU! The Prayer Shawl Ministry yarn closet is filled with an array of  wonderful yarns in all colors and varieties due to the many generous donations from parish families.  As we continue to broaden our efforts to provide our  parish community and others with the comfort of these shawls, we are very appreciative of your donations of yarns and funds to further our works.  We also

have a variety of donated crochet and knitting needles should you find the need for additional supplies for your handwork projects.  Remember our yarn closet is  available for anyone wishing to knit or crochet a shawl plus we also have a

variety of patterns available.  The early months of summer have called upon this ministry for the comfort of several shawls which adds to the joy and blessings of the work of our hands.  Shawls are always readily available for distribution  and a supply is kept in the church. If you would like to know more about the  shawl ministry or would like a shawl for someone contact either Pat Jacobson at 928-2327 or Carol Hawke at 926-2106 or the parish office.  The  next meeting for the Prayer Shawl Ministry is Monday, June 25 in the basement of

the parish house from 9-11:00a.m. - all are welcome.  Come share a cup of  coffee, tea and a little prayer!

Eucharistic  Adoration

“How has Eucharistic perpetual adoration affected your life? After my hour, I come away refreshed, recharged and renewed. I need that constantly since I’m the mother of three teenagers. “It’s the best thing that ever happened in our parish.” “My adoration hour is a must. That’s where I get my priorities straight – at the feet of Jesus.” “It’s an awesome experience to meet Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament - words cannot explain it.” These responses and scores of others tell their own story of people being transformed, prayer lives being deepened, the contemplation dimension of the spiritual life being discovered and ministry empowered at the source…  …..Fr. Michael J. Eivers.

The next scheduled Friday is June 29, from noon – 8:00 PM. A sign-up sheet is at the chapel door for your convenience. Please call Caroline @ 924-9952 or 926-5637 if you can spend an hour in Chapel with Jesus.
