Our Mission Statement

We, St. Mary's Parish, are a people responding to Christ's call to conversion, new life and discipleship with a nurturing Community.

We celebrate this new life in Scripture and the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic tradition.

Our Celebration impels and transforms us to be Spirit filled individuals who can reach out and minister to all people challenging and enabling them to build God's Kingdom of justice and holiness.

Care  For  Creation

How many phantom electricity users at your house?  Cell phone chargers, printers, computer monitors and speakers all draw phantom electricity (costing you money) while in their standby mode.

Thoughts  On  Prayer

It is essential to begin the practice of prayer with a firm resolution of persevering in it. -- St. Teresa of Avila

Marion  Ratliff

Many of you knew Marion and Joan Ratliff when they lived in Albany. Marion died on April 25 of this year. Joan and their daughter Heather will be at St., Mary’s, Albany for a Memorial Mass for Marion on June 21 at 11 AM.

Parents

Our parish nursery is available during the 11 AM Mass for your children who are in kindergarten or younger. Several of you have mentioned that you would like to see something more happening than simply “babysitting”. We are trying some Bible stories and other activities this summer with the children in the nursery. Also, we will soon begin Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the 11 AM Mass each week. This is for children who are pre-K through 2nd grade. We definitely will need some help with this – please call Kathy at 926-1449 ext 303 to volunteer.

Father  Ken  Olsen

Will be at St. Mary’s to give two talks this summer:

Tues. June 19–The Eastern Rite at 6:30 PM

Tues. June 26–Prayer from the Heart at 6:30 PM.

Please plan to join us and bring your neighbors. Father Ken is an excellent speaker (many of you will remember that he is one of the priests who took Father Betts’s place in the fall).

Eucharistic  Adoration

“How has Eucharistic perpetual adoration affected your life? After my hour, I come away refreshed, recharged and renewed. I need that constantly since I’m the mother of three teenagers. “It’s the best thing that ever happened in our parish.” “My adoration hour is a must. That’s where I get my priorities straight – at the feet of Jesus.” “It’s an awesome experience to meet Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament - words cannot explain it.” These responses and scores of others tell their own story of people being transformed, prayer lives being deepened, the contemplation dimension of the spiritual life being discovered and ministry empowered at the source…  …..Fr. Michael J. Eivers.

The next scheduled Friday is June 22, from noon – 8:00 PM. A sign-up sheet is at the chapel door for your convenience. Please call Caroline @ 924-9952 or 926-5637 if you can spend an hour in Chapel with Jesus.
