Divorce Care For persons who are divorced or divorcing meets on Tuesdays at 7 PM in the Parish House basement. This is a video series/ discussion group. Please spread the word to anyone you know who is divorced or divorcing. Thanks!
Infant Baptism Parents who would like to have their child baptized (kindergarten or younger) should come to a baptism prep class. Our next class is Saturday, June 9 from 1PM – 4:30 PM. Religious Ed Grade Level Sunday, May 20 – 9:40 – 10:45 Please have your child bring their bag & books (if applicable). Habitat Update The newest lot we will be building on is at the Jackson, Marion and Queen intersections. The building drawings are being done. That will be followed by permits and the initial land cleansing. The best estimate we have for actual work parties will be the end of July. Whole Community Catechesis Sunday, June 10 noon – 2 PM Topic: The Eucharist (no Weds. night repeat session in June) Eucharistic Adoration “Could you not watch one hour with Me?” Part of our journey is a preparation for developing a closer relationship with the Lord through more intimate, daily contact with Him in His Eucharistic Presence, Mass, and Communion. “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will refresh you.”…Mt. 11:28 Nourished by His Eucharistic Love, we become more intimate with Him and are enabled to reach out to Him, disguised in our brother and sisters: the poor, hungry, cold, sick, dying, elderly, unborn, outcast and all who are in need. The next scheduled Friday is May 18th, from noon – 8:00 PM. A sign-up sheet is at the chapel door for your convenience. Saint Francis: Troubadour of God's Peace, An inspiring one-man drama will be presented at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Corvallis on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 7:30 pm. Join award-winning actor Leonardo Defilippis as he brings to life the exuberance of the "little poor man of Assisi", capturing both the joy and love of Francis. This entertaining and moving drama is filled with acting, song and dance and is a delightful and spiritual experience for all ages. Tickets in advance are $5 each or $3 for 3 or more. Blanchet Catholic School The high school drama department is proud to present its spring musical, “Fiddler on the Roof.” The play will be held on May 18 @ 7 PM and May 10th @ 2PM in the school’s Wiegand Arts Center. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased online at www.blanchetcatholicschool.com or at the door. We are also offering a number of academic and athletic camps for students of all ages this summer. That too is on the website. Pray One! Knit One! The next meeting for the Prayer Shawl Ministry will be Monday, May 14 at 9:00a.m. - 11:00 in the basement of the parish house. Anyone wishing to learn more about this ministry is welcome. Thank you to all that helped in wishing Deacon Giovanni success in his coming ordination with your prayers and well wishes at the presentation of his prayer shawl. Remember that prayers shawls are always available to anyone seeking their comfort. Contact the parish office or any member of the prayer shawl ministry if you would like more information about obtaining a prayer shawl or in assisting with the works of this ministry. Our yarn bins are eagerly awaiting anyone wishing to knit or crochet a shawl. Please join us on the wonderful blessing-filled journey. Catholic Daughters Used Treasure Sale Is planned for June 22-23. We need donations of clean, useable and functional treasures that you no longer want or need. Won’t you think of us when spring cleaning rolls around? No junk or trash please! Catholic Daughters support many programs in the parish as well as our state with fund raisers. In the last six months alone, we’ve donated over $2000 to needy and worthwhile organizations; local, state and international. Mt. Angel Abbey Will host the 1st. Festival of the Arts and Wine Tasting – Saturday, June 23rd to benefit the Abbey Library and its collections. The day will begin with an organ concert in the Church followed by a wine tasting, featuring handcrafted Oregon wines and delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by Abbey Chef Hans d’Alessio. Entertainment will include tours of the Library and the new Annunciation theology center, art exhibits, an illuminated manuscript exhibition and a silent auction. Of special interest will be a display of illuminated rare books of hours dating from the 15th century. In addition, the Abbey will present rarely seen art from the monastery collection. A total of 500 tickets will be sold. General admission is $50 per person. Special 125th Anniversary Commemorative admission is $125 per person.
