Precycle as well as recycle. Buy products made to last, reuse things you already have instead of buying new and select products with minimal packaging, then the need to recycle is reduced.
Reminder The first Sunday of each month is “FISH” Sunday. Please bring non-perishable food items, toilet paper, soap, paper towels or diapers. These will be given to FISH, an emergency help organization in Albany and distributed in food boxes for the needy.
.Habitat New Builds are ready to go. St. Mary’s Habitat will begin volunteer activities on Saturday, May 3; and Saturday, June 7. We begin at 8:00 AM and usually go until around 3 PM.. Call Francey or John at 541-791-3725 to volunteer today! The building site is on Howard which is off Marion and Queen in Albany.
Nursery Workers We are looking for people who are 21 or older to work in our parish nursery. This would mean about 1 ½ hours on Sunday during the 11 AM Mass. It is a paid position. Applicants should have experience working with young children, the ability to work well with parents, and must pass a background check as well as complete necessary child abuse training. Please stop by the parish office to pick up an application. Thank you!
Child Safety A video presentation for adults – especially parents! Sunday, May 4 at 9:50 in the Gathering Space Note: this presentation is not intended for children or youth. We encourage all adults, especially parents to attend, but ask you to make other arrangements for your children. It is a Religious Ed Sunday and regular classes will be happening at that time.
Recycling St. Mary’s School is expanding our recycling efforts to include used cell phones and ink jet cartridges. A collection bin has been placed under the table near the school bulletin board. Please help us be good stewards of our Earth.
Saturday Evening Mass Saturday, May 3 will be at 4:30 PM due to confirmation. There will not be a 5:30 PM Mass that evening. Please pray for all the youth who are preparing for Confirmation.
Parish Directories If you had your picture taken for the directory, please pick up your directory from the Gathering Space. They are on a table near the windows. If you didn’t have your picture taken, we do have some extra directories available for $5 each. Thanks!

The Garden Market stand sells nursery stock and bedding plants, both flowers and vegetables. Eucharistic Adoration St. Gianna Beretta Molla, wife, mother, doctor, Italy. (1922-1962) A daily communicant from her youth, St. Gianna was greatly devoted to the Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady. She found happiness in visiting Jesus in the Holy Eucharist and praying the rosary daily. St. Gianna was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, doctor and leader in Catholic Action, sharing her faith with youth. She chose to give her life during her last pregnancy, that her unborn baby might live. St. Gianna, pray for a culture of life in our world. Our Lord is waiting in Eucharistic Adoration for you. Healing After Abortion If you are suffering from an abortion, experience God's love, forgiveness, and compassion on a Catholic Charities Rachel’s Vineyard weekend retreat May 2 - 4 or November 14 - 16, 2008, in Portland. Participation at the retreats is strictly confidential. The retreats are for women, men, and anyone suffering after an abortion, or who have participated in an abortion.
