Our Mission Statement

We, St. Mary's Parish, are a people responding to Christ's call to conversion, new life and discipleship with a nurturing Community.

We celebrate this new life in Scripture and the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic tradition.

Our Celebration impels and transforms us to be Spirit filled individuals who can reach out and minister to all people challenging and enabling them to build God's Kingdom of justice and holiness.

Bring your old newspapers to the Knights of Columbus bin across Ellsworth from the church office.  Proceeds from their collections support their charitable endeavors.

and generosity.  Your gifts of yarn will become a gift of comfort and blessing  for those who will receive shawls.  The Prayer Shawl Ministry welcomes Joan

Haller and Jayne Brown to the joy of knitting with prayerful purpose.  It is a joy to have you join us in this wonderful adventure with the Holy Spirit guiding

our hands. Anyone is welcome and we have help available for those of you that would like to learn to knit or crochet.  If you would like more information

about this ministry you may contact Carol Hawke at 926-2106 or Pat Jacobson 928-2327.

St. Mary’s Book Group

St. Mary’s Book Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. rotating among participant’s homes.  In March the group discussed Twelve Extraordinary Women by John MacArthur.  John MacArthur is a fifth-generation pastor, author and conference speaker, and has served as pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California since 1969.  The book introduces the reader to women of the Old and New Testaments.  We enjoyed learning about these faith-filled women, many of whom were not familiar to us.  We were disappointed in the author’s focus in the chapter on Mary, which dealt less with Mary and more about his perceptions of the relationship Catholics have with her.  On a positive note, the book has encouraged us to read more about Mary.  In April the group will discussing Celebrating Good Liturgy: A Guide to the Ministries of the Mass edited by James Martin SJ.  If you would like to learn more about the St. Mary’s Book Group or would like to join us, please call Elaine Young at 541-619-6106 or email at peyoung2@comcast.net.
