Our Mission Statement

We, St. Mary's Parish, are a people responding to Christ's call to conversion, new life and discipleship with a nurturing Community.

We celebrate this new life in Scripture and the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic tradition.

Our Celebration impels and transforms us to be Spirit filled individuals who can reach out and minister to all people challenging and enabling them to build God's Kingdom of justice and holiness.

Holy Week

Will be here soon. It begins on April 1 with the celebration of Palm Sunday. We will have sign ups in the Gathering space for liturgical ministers for Holy Thurs., Good Friday and Easter Vigil.

We also need folks to participate in the processions at all the Palm Sunday Masses (all ages are preferred from children to adults). There will be a practice for this. Please sign up on the Save Yourself a Phone Call or in the Gathering Space.

We also need folks to get their feet washed on Holy Thursday during the Mass. Again, it’s important to have people of all ages. If you want to sign up your children – sign yourself up also! God Bless.

Nursery

We no longer offer nursery care during the 8:30 AM mass. This is due to lack of participants. We will still continue to offer the nursery during the 11 AM mass. Also, we are in need of at least one person (18 years or older) to work in the nursery. The pay is minimum wage. Please call the parish office if you are interested in this.

You  May  Notice

That the Eucharistic ministers cleansing their hands in their pews before they distribute Communion. We would like to encourage all parishioners to remember to cover your cough and to offer a smile and a nod rather than a handshake if you are ill. Thank you!

Care  For  Creation

One quarter of the volume of a typical garbage truck is made up of food waste.

Consider composting your vegetable trimmings, egg shells and coffee grounds. Mix the compost into our clay soils to improve its friability and to permit better root growth

Eucharistic  Adoration

Let us be generous with our time. May our adoration with Jesus never cease…Pope John Paul II. The next scheduled adoration is Fri., March 23. A sign-up sheet is at the chapel door for your convenience. You may call Caroline @ 924-9952 or Dorothy @ 926-4699 for more information, thanks.

Work  Party  For  Church  & Grounds

We will be having an all Church work party on Sat., March 24th  from 9 am to 1 pm. Please bring your tools for the job you would like to do. Let Larry know what you would like to do. We have a few tools available. If you are going to power wash, bring rain gear and boots. Lots to do! Landscaping, clean up, Atrium, planting and pruning. Some inside items may come up also.

A  Few  Good  Men

Besides their monastic commitment to prayer and the common life of the monastery, the Benedictine Monks of Mt. Angel Abbey are committed to providing the best possible priestly formation to men preparing to become parish priests. They are looking for a few Good Men to be part of this life of work and prayer. If you are between the ages of 16-35 and you feel that you may be called to the priestly or religious life, than you are invited to participate in a Monastic Discernment Retreat which is scheduled for Fri. through Sun., April 13-15. Please contact Rev. Joseph Nguyen @ 503 845-3226 or email abbeyvocation@mtangel.edu
