Our Mission Statement

We, St. Mary's Parish, are a people responding to Christ's call to conversion, new life and discipleship with a nurturing Community.

We celebrate this new life in Scripture and the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic tradition.

Our Celebration impels and transforms us to be Spirit filled individuals who can reach out and minister to all people challenging and enabling them to build God's Kingdom of justice and holiness.

Worldwide, bicycles outnumber automobiles 2 to 1 but of all the trips taken in the USA, less than one percent is made by bicycles. Bicycling saves fuel and is good exercise. Why not try it??

Liturgical  Ministers

Please join us for an evening of reflection led by Fr. John Henderson on Weds., March 7th @ 7PM

Journey  To  Our  Father’s  House

From an article in Feb., US Catholic by Alice Camille. “Following this Lord means being led along a road we have not traveled before and probably would not choose.” “We can’s get where Jesus is taking us by working hard, by reasoning it out, by pulling out maps and plotting a course. We can only get where Jesus is going by permitting ourselves to be led into the unknown.”

The  Knights  of  Columbus

The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a delicious breakfast after each Mass this weekend to raise funds for Boy Scout Troop 377.  Part of the profit will help several scouts attend Philmont Scout Ranch in July for a 13 day high adventure expedition.

Pray  One!  Knit  One!

Yarns needed! If you would like to donate yarn to this ministry, we can use most any yarn except for wool. It takes at least 3 skeins weighing 6-8 ounces each for a full length shawl. Baby weight yarns use approximately 4 skeins. All colors are welcomed and we also can use partial skeins of unused yarns. Donations can be left at the church or the parish house. Most of all we need your prayers for the continuing success of this ministry.

St.  Mary’s  Book  Group

The group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 PM rotating among participant’s homes.  In February, the group discussed My Life with the Saints by Fr. James Martin SJ. The book is a wonderful and spiritual memoir by his sharing his own spiritual journey. Martin offers the reader an intimate insight into the holy men and women he looks to as inspirational companions. He depicts them as individuals with struggles, foibles and difficulties just like each one of us face in our own day to day trials to live as God would have us live. In March, the group will be discussing Twelve Extraordinary Women: How God Shaped Women of the Bible and What He Wants to Do with You by John MacArthur. If you would like to learn more about St. Mary’s Book Group or would like to join us, please call Elaine Young @ 541 619-6106 or email peyoung2@comcast.net

Please  Remember!

Announcements will be put in the bulletin based on suitability and available space. Thank you very much!!! You can send the email to: stmarys_albany@comcast.net.
