Circle of Prayer is somewhat similar to Renew or Disciples in Mission or Ambassadors for Christ – groups which we have done at St. Mary’s in past years. You can sign up on the form enclosed in today’s bulletin or in the Gathering Space. This is a way to make this Lenten season more meaningful. The groups will meet once a week for each of the five weeks of Lent. Groups will meet for 1 – 1 ½ hours in the chapel.

We go to our best friend, our soul mate, the one who loves us most, before we were, as we are and as we will be for now and forever more. There is not a thing we can tell Him that will make Him love us less! He knows us better than we can ever know ourselves; our thoughts, words and our hearts. He yearns to become one with us; to hold, heal and herald us to eternity. Let us go to Him today and everyday in Mass, communion and in the Blessed Sacrament. The next scheduled adoration is Friday the 2nd of March. A sign-up sheet is at the chapel door for your convenience. You may call Caroline @ 924-9952 or Dorothy @ 926-4699 for more information, thank you. “Church parking for members only! Trespassers will be Baptized!”
Pray One! Knit One! The next meeting for the Prayer Shawl Ministry will be Monday, February 26 at 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the basement of the parish house. A no-host luncheon will follow the meeting. The Prayer Shawl Ministry welcomes Nancy Zanotti, Elaine Smith and Jo McElroy in sharing the gift of knitting for this wonderful ministry. The ministry wishes to thank the Catholic Sentinel for including this ministry in their recent article featuring St. Mary's in Albany. We also thank those of you knitting at home for this ministry. You can leave your completed shawls at the church or parish house and please leave your name so we can acknowledge your participation. We recently received four lovely shawls that we would like to have the pattern but do not know who knitted them. If you can help solve this mystery, contact Carol Hawke @ 926-2106 or Pat Jacobson @ 928-2327. Yarns needed! If you would like to donate yarn to this ministry, we can use most any yarn except for wool. It takes at least 3 skeins weighing 6-8 ounces each for a full length shawl. Baby weight yarns use approximately 4 skeins. All colors are welcomed and we also can use partial skeins of unused yarns. Donations can be left at the church or the parish house. Most of all we need your prayers for the continuing success of this ministry. |
