Our Mission Statement

We, St. Mary's Parish, are a people responding to Christ's call to conversion, new life and discipleship with a nurturing Community.

We celebrate this new life in Scripture and the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic tradition.

Our Celebration impels and transforms us to be Spirit filled individuals who can reach out and minister to all people challenging and enabling them to build God's Kingdom of justice and holiness.

Adult Confirmation

If you are an adult Catholic (older than high school) who has never been confirmed, you might want to consider the adult confirmation preparation which begins in January. The sessions will be on Sunday mornings from 9:45 – 10:45 AM. The first session will be on Sunday, January 20. We will meet in the parish library – just come up the back stairs or the elevator. We will pass out a calendar at the first session and talk about requirements for the program. Hope you can join us!

Baptism for children

If your child is age kindergarten or less, parents should attend the infant baptism preparation session. The next session will be Saturday, January 26 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM in the Gathering Space. You must pre-register by calling the office (926-1449) or emailing: stmarys_albany@comcast.net. The cost of the session is $10, payable at the class.

If your child is in first grade or older and has not baptized, they should come to the Sunday morning classes beginning this January. Classes will be held in the 7th grade classroom of the school (next to the nursery). They will be from 9:40 – 10:45 AM. The first session is Sunday, Jan. 20. Parents are asked to stay for that first class. The classes end in April. For more information call the office (926-1449 ext 303) or email: stmarys_albany@comcast.net.

Whole Community Catechesis

Sunday, January 13

Noon – 2 PM

Everyone is invited to join us for a special Whole Community (WCC) session on Sunday, Jan. 13. This is the feast day of the baptism of the Lord. What a great day for us to learn more about our Catholic Social Teaching and our call to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. As we reflect on the baptism of the Lord, we will also reflect on our own baptisms and the way of justice.

Lunch will be served ($2 suggested donation). There will be a repeat session Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 5:30 PM.
